At that place is a clicking/ticking noise that just happens in 1st and third and it's quite loud. Matches route speed, no noises in 2nd or 4th that I can hear. Sounds like it's coming from the transmission surface area somewhere.
The noise is loudest in 1st, quieter in 3rd. You can't hear it with the windows downwardly. Shifts are all proficient, chirps the tyres 1-2 even with very lite throttle.
If you concur your foot on the brake and give it some revs it doesn't rattle either.
Tried to get information technology to do information technology with the auto up on jack stands and in gear. Fifty-fifty with light pressure on brakes, no noises in any gear at all...
So it only seems to do information technology under load in 1st and 3rd.
Doesn't slip and shifts just fine. Anyone got any ideas on that 1?

It's non got any worse in 500 miles, merely withal worries me. It varies in how loud it is, doesn't seem to exist any design other than its *e'er* in that location in 1st and 3rd. It'southward as well 100% output shaft speed related.
Could be band or servo related perhaps?
Reckon I might have to pull it and strip information technology down over again to investigate. Anyone have any more insights?

YELLOWBULLET-Hutch'due south transmission forum
This is the identify where the known names hang out. Hutch answers all questions and the balance is mostly bitching who's got the longest...
Having rebuilt a couple 700'southward and a 4L60, I would say it'due south got something to exercise with the sun shell, which is spinning in 1st and 3rd and held by the ring in 2nd and 4th.
Did you take any clearance problems during final assembly? Maybe something is not seated properly so the sun shell is wobbling?
Did you replace bushings? Haven't forgotten one?
What does it do in neutral?
Good luck.
